?~nichole asked: I just changed my number and I’m still getting calls that say your car’s warranty may have expired and needs to be renewed immediately.
My car is by no means new and it doesn’t, to my knowledge, have a warranty. Anybody know about this? I’m definitely confused!

I don’t get calls but get junk letters all the time with the same thing. The companies which sell warranties are alway out to sell a new sucker as the auto warranties are a very lucrative source of income for them. They’ll usually sell you a warranty if your car is less than ten years old and has less than 70,000 miles on it. They make a fortune off of those things. Consumers did a survey of car dealers a few years ago and discovered that the dealers made more from the sale of warranties than from the sale of cars.

U NEED TO CALL YOUR PHONE COMPANY AND HAVE THEM BLOCK THE CALLS IF THAT DOES NOT WORK TRY TO GET THE NUMBER OF THE WARRANTY COMPANY AND SEND A LETTER TELL THEM THEY HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER AND IF THIS DOEST STOP U WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO THE FCC OR BBB.

usually comes for a dialer that does a sequence of calling to people. worked in telemarketing and that is how they call people to make potential sales.

Yes, my boyfriend I both get them, but they are recordings, so we can’t talk back to them. Also what really ***** is that we both got new cell phones this time went the pay as you go route–and we get these calls on the cells - not the landlines - so it uses our minutes to just get a spam phone call!!!

You information was bought from the local motor vehicle administration.
They are non-manufacturer companies and as usually less than respectable.
have your number put on the do not call list

I get them on occasion for my wife’s 97 blazer with 130K miles.. Hasnt been in warranty for 8 yrs and 94K miles. Though they may not have all right information, they are not scams. They are offering legit extended warranty. They are however just a sales company and arent the best places to purchase your warranty from.
They are not any worse than either of the companies named by Johnnie M or Lawyer O. Both of which spam every post about automotive extended warranty, whether you asked about purchasing a warranty or not. They still post thier speel and thier link. No different than getting the phone calls or the post cards.
